Grace Eileen Kuhn

Grace Eileen Kuhn, 84, of Cranesville, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her residence.  Grace was born in Cranesville, PA, on May 24, 1934, a daughter of the late John G. and Susan (Oleyar) Sawdy Sr.  Grace received her degree from Orra Jean Beauty Academy and she owned and operated Grace Kuhn’s Beauty Shop in Cranesville for ten years.  She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.  Grace enjoyed traveling with her friends and family in the summer, and knitting, crocheting, playing the piano and organ in the winter, before retirement allowed her to spend her winters in Deland, FL.  She was a fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr., she loved gardening, and spent many hours playing games and spending time with her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, John Kuhn, and a brother, John G. Sawdy Jr.  She is survived by two daughters, Deanna Helmbreck and her husband, Wayne, of Edinboro, and Delana King and her husband, Paul Jr., of Cranesville, two sisters, Myrna Meeker of Cranesville, and Madeline Gebhart of McSherrystown, PA, a brother, Robert Sawdy, of Tampa, FL, four grandchildren, T.J. Holtz and his wife, Sara, Kristopher Holtz, Bryce King, Camry King, three great-grandchildren, Braylin, Emmylou, Lieam, and several nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1 pm at Grace United Methodist Church in Albion.  Burial will be private in Hope Cemetery, Wellsburg.  Memorials may be made to the Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department, 9920 Meadville Street, Cranesville, PA  16410, or to the Anna Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA  16511.  The Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, is handling the funeral arrangements.  To light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit
