Mattera Funeral Home Order Flowers

Frieda Mildred Daugherty, 89, formerly of West Springfield, passed away at Pleasant Ridge Manor on Sunday, October 21, 2018.  Frieda was born on July 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Glenn and Lydia (Snyder) Taylor.  Frieda worked at Astatic in Conneaut, Ohio.  She was a member of the Federated Church.  Frieda loved playing Bingo, fishing and watching her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Daugherty, two sons, Randy Daugherty and Stanley Daugherty,  a grandson, Christopher Kennedy, two sisters, Teresa Heaton and Bonnie Beers, and brothers, Ronald, Melford, and Gordon Taylor.  She is survived by four daughters, Jan Daugherty and her partner, Ron Harouff, of Springfield, Pam Kennedy of Albion, Patty Vorse and her husband, David, of Albion, and Jody Daugherty of Springfield, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Lawrence Taylor and his wife, Kathy, and Loren Taylor and his wife, JoAnne, two sisters, Janice Payne and Rita Huya, and many nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be held at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a funeral service there at 11:00 with Pastor Dr. Ed Huntley officiating.  Burial will follow in Albion Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, 11959 Main Street, East Springfield, PA  16411.  To send flowers, light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit www.matterafuneralhome.com.
