Martha C. Headley

Martha C. Headley, 90, of Albion, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at her residence.  Martha was born in Albion, PA on October 30, 1927, a daughter of the late Valentine and Veronica (Maytan) Chromik.  Martha was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church.  Martha enjoyed doing puzzle books, cooking, writing letters to pen pals, bird watching and gardening.  In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Melford Headley, five sisters, Elizabeth, Ann, Catherine, Amelia, and Mary, four brothers, Valentine, Clementine, Joseph, and John, and one granddaughter, Janelle Guriel.  She is survived by six children, Barbara Davies and her husband, Mark, of McKean, Patricia Smock and her husband, Roger, of Cranesville, Beatrice Heath and her husband, Tom, of Erie, Gregory Headley of Albion, Theresa Freeman and her husband, Jim, of Erie, and Veronica Fulton and her husband, Jim, of Cynthiana, KY, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be held at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, in Crossingville, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. James Kennelley officiating.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Cemetery, c/o St. Philip Church, Rt. 98, Crossingville, PA, 16412.  To send flowers, light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit www.matterafuneralhome.com
