Dorothea "Dot" Wiley

Dorothea "Dot" Wiley, age 90, passed away on Monday, May 29th, 2017 at Edinboro Manor.  She was born on May 9th, 1927 in Albion, a daughter of the late Leslie and Grace Vought Einhiple.  Dot graduated from Albion High School in 1944. She worked at various jobs throughout the years, retiring from Northwestern School District where she was a math and reading assistant. She also held two terms as the auditor of Elk Creek Township.  Dot loved her family and enjoyed spending time being “Bubba” to her grandchildren and great-randchildren.

We will always cherish her fun loving way and great sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, sewing and crocheting. She made several afghans and quilts throughout the years.  Dot was also known for the thousands of nut rolls and pies baked for different social events.  Dot was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary where for years she participated in the annual Memorial Day Services, reciting the poem “In Flanders Field”.  Dot was preceded in death by her husband, James Wiley, her sons, Jack Dunda and Dale Wiley, a sister, Eleanor Wnek and a sister-in-law, Frances Einhipple.  Survivors include her son, James Dunda (Mary) and a daughter Jo Ellen Wilcko (Shawn Phelps) both of Erie, a daughter-in-law, Lynn Dunda of Michigan, 9 grandchildren, Todd Dunda (Sherry), Julie Gindlesperger (Jeff), Jill Dunda, Kristyn Demetrio (Matt), Michael Wilcko (Maggie), Alec Wilcko (Sara), Donna Schirs (Spencer), Jeff Dunda (Jenny) and Christopher Land, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a brother, Leslie Einhipple and sisters Mildred Meeker (Jim) Colorado and Marlene Swift (Paul) of Pennsylvania, several nieces and nephews and a very close niece, Gayle Pratt.  No calling hours will be observed.  Burial will be private.  Memorials may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary, 567 East State Street, Albion, PA  16401.  The Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, is handling the funeral arrangements.  To light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit
