Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother

 

Lois M. Foy, 76, of Edinboro, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville.  She was born September 26, 1940 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Donald and Vada (Reagle) Gehr.  Lois worked at Edinboro University as the Head Custodian, retiring in 2000 after 20 years of service.  Lois was a member of the Franklin Center United Methodist Church.  She and her husband enjoyed camping and travelling, proudly travelling to all 50 states throughout their lives.  Lois was known for making pies every year for the Albion Fair.  She enjoyed sewing, canning, spending time on the family farm and especially her dog, Hanna.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Keeton and Audrey Shoemaker.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Arthur Foy Sr., whom she married January 11, 1958, five children, Angel Ward and her husband, William, of Union City, Arthur W. Foy Jr. and his significant other, Georgain Lethbridge, of Girard, Betty Feidler and her husband, Ronald, of Edinboro, Mary Jackson and her significant other, Forrest Kimmy, of Edinboro, Daniel G. Foy and his wife, Madonna, of Knoxville, TN, three sisters, Felice Willaford and her husband, Robert, of Florida, Shirley Napier and her husband, Joe, of Kentucky, Melanie Blanchard and her husband, Thomas, of Meadville, and a brother, Donald Gehr of Texas.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be held at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm.  A funeral service will be held there on Tuesday at 11am with Pastor Bob Klingler officiating.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Wellsburg.  Memorials may be made in honor of Lois to Because You Care, Inc., P.O. I am so sorry to hear about Lois. She was a very special women. I worked with her at Edinboro, she was a spit fire and kept me on my toes! Angel could tell you stories, but I truly loved her! (Love you too Angel) I wish I could be there but am now in Florida.

I worked for Lois in Loveland many years ago as a student worker.I will never forget our conversations and all the things she taught me. She was a fgrat lady and full of spitfire. Sending prayers for all of you. I am so sorry for your loss!
